CAN BK 'WALK THE TALK' ON LOVE AND COMPASSION?

DAIRY AND WALKING THE TALK: CAN BK GO BEYOND 'THE CALL OF THE CHEESE'?

Brahma Kumaris Environment Initiative tells us that :

"Brahma Kumaris Environment Initiative is about awakening greater environmental awareness within our own organisation, as well as collaborating and learning from others through dialogue, partnerships, UN conferences and local initiatives."

Brahma Kumaris prides itself on its compassion, thought for others and inclusiveness. We would therefore encourage BK to change from its 'lacto vegetarian diet' which we now know results in appalling cruelty to animals through the integrated dairy/meat industry, as well as primary planetary degradation (UNEP Report) and ill health, to a 'vegan diet'  that is 'pure vegetarian'. We will then truly 'Walk The Talk' with a newly benevolent lifestyle.

Brahma Kumaris  embraces environmental awareness, through its UN presence, and holds numerous programs on the topic : none have so far addressed the question of changing to a compassionate diet, nor the catastrophic results of industrial scale dairy/meat production on animals and the environment, or the contribution that eating dairy makes to poor health. We would encourage BK stakeholders to become active in extending the group's  compassion into the lives of our fellow sentient beings through a benevolent change in attitude and practise.

Just the other day the One True God of All Religions, according to BK philosophy, and possibly emerging reality, said that 'Australia will do wonders!' We look forward to my friend  Brother Charlie leading BK Australia to a vegan diet : a move which would be greatly admired around the world within and without the organisation.

A few, a very few, Brahma Kumaris teaching centres outside India already embrace a vegan lifestyle. We congratulate these centres on their leadership, compassion  and respect, and hope a vegan diet will become Call of the Time policy for Brahma Kumaris worldwide. We note that ' sanctuary australia' is fully vegan, and recently Brahma Kumaris Glasgow followed suit...and since we first posted this article, another twenty  BK centres have  adopted diets that are compassionate and cruelty free...and so too

is the Godly bhog!

I feel seeing the current situation, how animals are being treated, it's a great idea that BK's adopt vegan diet. I am all for vegan diet.

There is no hope for them 03.06.2018 15:22

From 'Special notice for 18th January 2018', "After bhog, have a light breakfast of milk and fruits at the centre and have yoga from 9.30 to 12.00 noon". Why?

MABK INFO 02.07.2019 21:05

In the old days dairy was not a cruel 'industry' as it is now: even I milked the family cow. BK leaders are all stuck in their culture: if BB did it so must we.

Karen 17.12.2018 01:43

Agree, time to stop serving cows milk on 18th January.

Tanim 16.11.2016 18:21

BK is always great. I salute them from my heart.

janet sylph 08.02.2016 03:58

Agree with Gails comment... It would be good to run it past the Great Lord Himself

MABK INFO 08.02.2016 14:11

Well Janet it should not require intervention of BD for BKs to eat with compassion rather than cruelty: but such vision is presently lacking in BK DNA, alas.

Patrizia 31.01.2016 16:11

I agree To fit the original message into the call of the present time being vegan is
like being vegetarian 30-50 years ago. We have to let go traditions.

MABK INFO 05.02.2016 04:43

Yes Patricia, as we hear from management, The Call of the Time is not the same now as in 1937. Further, to be Vegan is to be truly soul conscious.

BK Gail 28.01.2016 03:37

You should of put it to Baba, Robin about the vegan diet. Very few get to sit and meet Baba like that. What a privilege to sit right in front. Om Shanti Robin.

MABK INFO 05.02.2016 04:40

Hi Gail Yes I think it is something we as a family are well able to do.More centres can quietly change habits if they find the courage and compassion to do so.

God 21.01.2016 06:57

Brother Ramsey I saw you on. TV Monday with BapDada's meeting. You were sitting in front of BapDada. All we could see in the end was your white hair, not BapDad

MABK INFO 21.01.2016 08:07

Ah! Well GOD I was sat there by BK authority! But I do hope you had a good view of the audience for the other 99% of the night!

Ana 21.01.2016 04:12

Hi MABK,It will be good to know how it was explained to Dadi the violence of dairy farming. What exactly Dadi said about vegan. After all, Dadi is compassionate.

MABK INFO 21.01.2016 04:40

Ana Dadi was dismissive: and always follows Brahma, so I think she therefore feels dairy is fine...

Ana 21.01.2016 03:18

Have you tried discussing vegan to Dadi Janki?
She might be open to this.

ANA 21.01.2016 03:50

It will be interesting to know how Tamasain explained to Dadi the violence of dairy farming. What exactly Dadi said about this.Dadi after all is compassionate.

MABK INFO 21.01.2016 03:21

hello ana yes sister tamasin has lovingly made the attempt but dadi is not on that wavelength, alas

Mo 20.01.2016 22:08

Such a clear statement of principle. I've been weaning off last bits of dairy with the Veganuary initiative. Giving up cheese was easier than expected.

MABK 21.01.2016 03:24

Well done MO. Yes and for people who have difficulty there is a very good 'cheddar' at supermarkets made in Greece...
