BK Brisbane, a cosy little centre, prepares for today :18 January. Nice.
🙂Hello dear friends. January 18 is the Brahma Kumaris day to silently celebrate the 'achievement of perfection'
of the religion's founder Mr Lekraj Kripalani, or just note his memory and his passing, depending on your belief.BK AND JANUARY 18.
We also feel that
today, just four years since this site began presenting a more accurate view of BK history and experience, that it is also a good time to celebrate the popularity of this site... and to thank all of you. There are many thousands of people who have now gained
a greater understanding of the nature of the Brahma Kumaris school/religion/ and its true origins and mission. Alas though, BKWSU continue to promote, in their backstory and much of their teachings, sanitised and censored versions of both, presumably to more
easily gain support. This is such a shame as the genuine BK actuality is exciting, confronting, exuberant and takes ones breath away with its audacity!
So...January 18th is the BK Day of Silent Remembrance. Although attending a BK centre on this day can be rewarding, the extended meditations rarely occur in silence, as the screeching (and popular with the Indian diaspora)
'Gujerati Pop Music' played at regular intervals, harasses even the most dedicated meditator. And then there is the repetitive morning philosophy reading and chat to sit through (with many of the interesting bits redacted). As one visitor drily observed 'The
BKs talk a lot about silence'. Indeed. And talking the walk, rather than walking the talk, remains a challenge for the organisation on many levels, as a number of posts on this site indicate...🙂
So friends...many thanks for your support: and we look forward to bringing you more interesting posts about this and that in 2019.🤭
